Congratulations to BWB friend and author Max Rashbrooke on his appointment as Victoria University’s JD Stout Fellow for 2020.
BWB has published two Texts written by Max – Wealth and New Zealand and The Inequality Debate: An Introduction, and a book: Government for the Public Good: The Surprising Science of Large-Scale Collective Action. He also edited Inequality: A New Zealand Crisis.
As the Stout Fellow, Max will work on a new project: ‘Unbalanced: How Wealth Inequality is Reshaping New Zealand’.
His research has revealed a growing divide in Aotearoa: “As a result, the social glue that holds this country together – empathy, connectedness, a sense of a shared life with everyone else – is weakening. These are concerning trends that deserve investigation.”
We are excited and looking forward to working with Max on the new book that results from his Stout fellowship project.
